Solutions to ensure safe and stable operation for the power plants at Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company

“Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company should continue to deploy solutions to ensure safe and stable operation of its plants” - that is the leading opinion from Mr. Ngo Son Hai – Vice President of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) at the meeting with Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company on solutions to ensure safe and stable operation of power plants in the morning of October 12, 2023 at Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company.

Participating in the working session were representatives of leaders of EVN's specialized Departments; Mr. Le Hai Dang – Vice President of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1); representatives of the Production Technical Department and Safety Department of EVNGENCO1; Leadership and management of Departments/Workshops of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long - Acting Director of the Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company reported at the meeting

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Long - Acting Director of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company reported the Company's electricity production in the first 9 months of 2023 was 7.723 billion kWh, reaching 95.32% of the annual plan issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The economic and technical indicators have been well controlled; and the plants have been currently operating stably, generating output according to mobilization from the National Electricity System.

In order to improve the reliability of the Plants to ensure stable operation and readiness responding to mobilization of the system, the Company has drastically implemented many solutions e.g focusing on investigating and analyzing incidents of power units; strengthening operational management; closely monitoring the operating status of the equipment; encouraging the application of technical improvements and modern technology in production; organizing operational shifts to periodically rehearse typical incidents; organizing the training and periodic inspection of electrical safety procedures, hydromechanical thermochemical safety procedures and safety work regulations and so on.

At the working session, the working delegation focused on exchanging and pointing out solutions that contribute to the safe and stable operation of the Power Units, to ensure that Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company can perform well its assigned tasks in next time.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Son Hai – Vice President of EVN recognized the efforts of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company in the past 9 months. In addition, he asked the Company's Board of Directors to determine that maintaining stable operation of power units should be the most important political task, thereby making maximum efforts to keep the plants at the highest ready level. He emphasized that the Company need to drastically deploy all solutions to improve the quality of the operation teams and they must operate in accordance with procedures and regulations to avoid from occurring subjective incidents or repeat incidents and the capacity reduction of the generating units; to ensure enough fuel for operation; to avoid from occurring environmental incidents. He added that the Company should pay attention to technical and economic indicators and ensure stable operation of the electrical system.

The EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai also requested that EVNGENCO1/ Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company must proactively coordinate with coal supply partners, implementing specific coal purchase contracts for each plant, ensuring coal quality and quantity, and strictly implementing EVN's regulations on minimum inventory levels to ensure enough coal for production in all cases in order to prepare for power supply in the dry season in 2024.

Previously, the working delegation inspected the actual operating situation at the work sites of the plants.

Regarding the difficulties and recommendations of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company, EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai directed and assigned EVN's specialized Departments to fully recognize, research, propose and report to EVN leaders in order to help the Company to remove difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks accordingly.
